ARROW FILMS PUTS THE “FUN” BACK IN HORROR

WITH THE RE-RELEASE OF TOBE HOOPER’S

THE FUNHOUSE

WITH A SIDESHOW OF EXTRAS ON BLU RAY!

Los Angeles, CA. & U.K. -- In the mid-70s, the first name in horror was Tobe Hooper. His Texas Chainsaw Massacre set the bar for grisly gorefests and a new generation of filmmaker was born. In 1981, he raised the bar again earning the adoration and respect of slasher enthusiasts everywhere, with his dark ride into terror, The Funhouse, starring Elizabeth Berridge (Amadeus, Hidalgo), Cooper Huckabee (Urban Cowboy, True Blood), Largo Woodruff (Stardust Memories, Bill), Miles Chapin (Hair, The People Vs. Larry Flynt) and featuring spirited performances by William Finley (Phantom of the Paradise, Black Dahlia) and two-time Academy Award-nominee Sylvia Miles (Midnight Cowboy, Farewell My Lovely). Now, 30 years later, the fun has been resurrected on Blu Ray, by Arrow Films, with a fresh batch of ghoulish extras to make audiences squirm all over again.

As the final days of summer wind down, four bored teenagers take their double date to a mysterious carnival on the outskirts of town. Not ready for the night to be over, they dare each other to stay overnight in the carnival’s funhouse. But when they witness a brutal murder, the fun night out turns into a fight for survival as they find themselves being stalked by the killer. Tonight, the funhouse has become a carnival of terror and none of them may get out alive.

Among the supplemental materials compiled by Creative Talent Communications (CTC) and Scotland’s High Rising Productions for this high def transfer release are: four panel reversible sleeve options with original and newly commissioned artwork, a double-sided fold-out poster, a collector’s booklet featuring brand new writing on the film by critic and author Kim Newman, never before seen photographs and audio commentary with The Funhouse S/FX wizard Craig Reardon with Jeffrey Reddick (creator of the Final Destination series), producer Derek Power with genre scholar Howard S. Berger, and author Calum Waddell and Justin Kerswell (author of Teenage Wasteland and a host of the slasher cinema website Hysteria Lives).
