REVISITING THE ORIGINAL ZOMBIE INVASION
CULT HERO JOSEPH PILATO
RETURNS TO THE CLASSIC SCENE OF THE CRIME IN
NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: DARKEST DAWN

Joseph Pilato

Los Angeles, CA. (2010) -- News that a 3D-CGI re-imagining of George Romero's classic cult film, Night of the Living Dead-- appropriately entitledNight of the Living Dead: Darkest Dawn -- has polarized the horror community. Some love the idea, some hate it, but all agree that including heroes and anti-heroes from the original film is the best idea yet! Joining that elite group of fan favorites is actor Joseph Pilato, whose turn as Captain Rhodes in Romero's sequel Day Of The Dead has become a cult standard.

Pilato is thrilled to be returning to the proverbial beginning of the zombie franchise in the role of Harry Cooper. "Also, I'm very dear friends with Krya Schon and I get to play her dear father's role. She is a sister in the genre to me and I'm just so full of excitement and filled with inspiration that I hope for our fans that this film re-grabs you the way it did in 1968."

The updated, 3D version of Romero's film will take place in New York City and provide what writer/director Zebediah DeSoto refers to as "back story" for the characters of that original film. A self-proclaimed "Romero fanboy," DeSoto is looking to expand on the story told by Romero and, in a sense, flesh it out using cutting edge technology that will combine live action with real-time CGI characters, much like James Cameron's megahit Avatar.

Pilato will play Harry Cooper in the film and joins a cast of voice actors which includes Tony Todd (Candy Man) Bill Moseley (The Devil's Rejects) returning to the role of Johnny, Danielle Harris (Rob Zombie's Halloween) as Barbara.
