SPECTRAL MOTION, INC.
STAKES ITS CLAIM ON THE INDUSTRY WITH
BLADE TRINITY

Los Angeles, CA. (11/08/04) -- -- After a hugely successful outing on Guillermo Del Toro's Hellboy, Spectral Motion, Inc. landed the creature effects contract for Blade Trinity, the third installment in New Line Cinema's enormously popular Blade franchise. SMI's founder Mike Elizalde and his creative team designed and produced an impressive array of special makeup and creature effects ranging from fangs and "ashed" corpses to a pair of fully articulated animatronic creature suits. The team's contributions played an integral role in the look and feel of Blade Trinity. This is another triumph in the growing list of high profile film projects for the Glendale-based effects company.

"Although our company is very young, comparatively speaking, we offer a very deep pool of talent and experience," says Elizalde. "Despite the fact that we opened our doors during a period of time when others were closing theirs, we have managed to secure a very strong position in the effects business and I attribute this success to our ability to listen and to communicate. I am also a firm believer that a company's success is directly commensurate with the strength of the relationships one develops along the way. We were awarded Blade Trinity based not only on the strength of our work on Hellboy but also because Guillermo (del Toro) and Patrick Palmer (Executive producer/Hellboy) recommended us so strongly to David Goyer. This recommendation came about as a result of the friendship we shared and the trust and confidence they had in our ability to deliver" added Elizalde.

Since its inception in 1994 SMI has been providing cutting-edge effects for dozens of films including Blade 2, A.I. Artificial Intelligence, Men In Black 1 and 2, and their latest project, the highly anticipated Fantastic Four slated for a summer 2005 release by 20th Century Fox.

With a theatrical release date of December 8, 2004, Blade Trinity is a New Line Cinema production and was directed by writer/producer David S. Goyer. Executive Producer for the film is Avi Arad (X-Men, Spiderman, The Hulk) and producers are Kevin Feige (X-Men, Daredevil, The Hulk), Peter Frankfurt (Blade, Blade 2, Lethal Weapon 2), David S. Goyer (Blade 2, Mission To Mars, Ghost Rider), Lynn Harris (Blade, Blade 2, Simone), Art Schaeffer (Final Destination, Detroit Rock City, Rush Hour) and Wesley Snipes (Blade, Blade 2).
