Los Angeles, CA. (07/13/05) -- Fans of the cult phenomenon will be eating their brains out over the latest incarnation of the P.M.A.C. (Post Mortem Animation Control) saga, when the comic book adaptation of the award-winning short P.M.A.C.: When Zombies Attack!! is unveiled at the San Diego Comic Con on July 13th. Created and written by Grimm Grotto Goods founders Matt Rose and Chad Waters (Hellboy, The Ring, Men In Black) and illustrated by cult comic book artist Jim Mahfood (Grrrl Scouts, X-Men Unlimited #30), with a cover by internationally acclaimed artist Mike Huddleston (The Coffin, Deep Sleeper), the comic book, subtitled Don't Shoot The Messenger, explores new and original storylines of the P.M.A.C. under the direction of Officer Frank Hadely.The comic book is the latest realization of what amounts to a dream project for creators Rose and Waters, who began work on the P.M.A.C.: When Zombies Attack!! franchise six years ago. "It is really exciting to see our first comic finished," says Rose. "All through the process Chad and I enjoyed seeing what Jim Mahfood would create from our words and the vibrant cover that Mike Huddleston has painted. I hope that everyone else will enjoy this book as much we enjoyed seeing it made and now completed."
"We took our When Zombies Attack!! project into new territory with the comic book," adds Waters. "We loosened up a bit and tried to strike a lighter tone with the story line. It was a lot of fun and Mahfood's artwork was the perfect compliment. I'm very excited that it's finally done."
The limited edition P.M.A.C. comic book, along with its creators, Matt Rose, Chad Waters, Jim Mahfood and Mike Huddleston, will be on hand for autographs and to discuss this one-of-a-kind project throughout the week of the Comic Con at the Grimm Grotto Goods booth, #4049. Available for viewing will be maquettes inspired by the artwork, standees of Officer Frank, a zombie and select pages from the comic book for photo opps, props from the original production, puppets and monitors showcasing both the original short and its spin-off Waker Safety.
P.M.A.C.: When Zombies Attack!! is an outrageous, award-winning independent short, created by special effects wizards Matt Rose and Chad Waters as a brilliant send-up of reality television.
